TODAY’S VERSE
“I waited patiently for the LORD to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the LORD.”
Psalms 40:1-3

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Have you found yourself in the pit? Does it seem like there is no way out? The walls are high and slippery, every time you try to escape you slip back down? David knew exactly how you feel. There are many pits in life we can fall into. Emotional pits of bitterness, depression, fear. Financial pits of debt or inadequate income. Relational pits of alienation, fighting or loneliness. Career pits of unemployment or underemployment. The good news is that God knows about our situation. He is able to help us. As David waited patiently for God, God heard his cry. God lifted him out of the pit of despair and put him on solid ground. He can do the same for you. Cry out to God today. Tell Him about your situation. Share with Him how you feel. As you do, you will find God lifting you out of the pit you are in. He will put you on solid ground. He will give you a new song to sing. Best of all, as God works in your life, many will see what is happening and put their trust in God the same way you do. Give God your situation and begin to trust Him for deliverance today.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, You know the pit I am in. I admit my participation in this and repent of any of my doing that has kept me here. I ask You, Father to lift me out of this. I will wait patiently for You dear God and trust You for Your deliverance. In Jesus Name.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
“May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord give you grace, mercy, and peace.”
II Timothy 1:2

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Could Paul possibly fit any more into one sentence? I don’t think there is a time I read this salutation that I don’t sense a deep stirring in my soul. It stops me dead in my tracks. I don’t need to go any further. It is all here. What else could we possibly need in life? Grace. God’s love, attention and salvation given to you freely, just because He wants to. Mercy. God’s forgiveness of your sins and provision for your life when there is no way in this world you deserve it. Peace. A peace with God and from God, deep in your heart, passing all your understanding. What a privilege, what a blessing, what an unbelievable gift from God. Will you receive it today? Will you agree with Paul? Will you request what God is freely giving, what Christ has so graciously provided? Today, may God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord give you grace, mercy, and peace.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I come now to freely receive what You so freely offer. I ask to be filled with Your grace, mercy and peace. Make me so conscious of these gifts that my heart overflows with praise and thanksgiving and my life reflects the joy of this reality. In Jesus name.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
“So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands.”
Psalms 78:7

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Some things are meant to pass on. Hope in God is one of them. We look back at the early church and say, “If only God would do His miraculous deeds today?” Why won’t He? Isn’t He the same yesterday, today and tomorrow? Aren’t we called to live by faith in the same way that Paul taught the early church? Are not all the promises of God’s provision true today as they were centuries ago? Jesus said that we would be commissioned by Him in the power of the Holy Spirit to do even greater things than He did! This is our generation. It is time for our hope to be realized. May we not forget His miracles and obey Him fully, expecting God to do great and mighty things, even today.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Lord, I am thankful to be living in such a time as this. You are alive and mighty. You are loving and compassionate. I hear of all Your miracles in time past and say, “This is my generation and I put my hope in You. Work through me in all Your power as You have in the past.”
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
“I have told all your people about your justice. I have not been afraid to speak out, as you, O LORD, well know. I have not kept the good news of your justice hidden in my heart; I have talked about your faithfulness and saving power. I have told everyone in the great assembly of your unfailing love and faithfulness.”
Psalms 40:9-10

“Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.’ But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
Romans 10:13-15

TODAY’S THOUGHT
People are dying for the lack of a Savior! All around us are people with deep needs that God can help them with. We need to be a witness of the love of God and share with them the good news that He loves them. As we experience our relationship with God and learn to understand the love He has for us, the more we will be able to share this love with others. This is what David did. As he experienced God’s unfailing love and faithfulness, he told others about it. He did not hide it in his heart. Paul asks, “How can people believe in Christ if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?”  Today let God lead you. Ask Him to bring you into a situation where you can share with others how God has been faithful in your life. Share how you have experienced the love that God has for you or how He has provided for you in some way. Offer to pray for them so they too can experience the love and power of God. Remember you are not doing this alone. God will use the Holy Spirit to prepare the way and open the door for you to share.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, thank you for what you have done in my life. Please open the door for me to share this with others. Prepare their hearts. Give me wisdom to know what to say and the courage to say it. As I speak of Your love and mighty power and all that You are doing in my life, might Your Holy Spirit help them to receive the truth for their own self. In Jesus Name.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
“When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land. God said, ‘If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”’
Exodus 13:17

Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News. Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself.
Philippians 1:27-28

Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you.
James 4:7-8

TODAY’S THOUGHT
We live in two worlds. The Spiritual world is real and we are at war. We are at war, not only for our own Spiritual life, but for the salvation of the world. In battle there is plenty opportunity for fear. God knew this, so He did not send the Hebrews on the most direct route to the Promised Land. God knew if the Israelites saw battle to early in their commitment they would be tempted to run and return to Egypt. Paul also knew our temptation to fear and encourages us to live like citizens of Heaven, standing together in one Spirit and purpose fighting together for the faith! In his book, “When Heaven Invades Earth” Bill Johnson writes, “When we refuse fear, the enemy becomes terrified. A confident heart is a sure sign of his ultimate destruction and our present victory! Do not fear – ever. Return to the promises of God, spend time with people of faith, and encourage one another with the testimonies of the Lord. Praise God for who God is until fear no longer knocks at the door. This is not an option, for fear actually invites the enemy to come to kill, steal and destroy.”  The good news is that James tells us to resist the Devil, his lies and fear tactics and the Devil will flee from us. More importantly, James gives us the real Spiritual secret to overcoming fear. He tells us to run to God and God Himself will come close to us. Today, resist fear and submit yourself to God. Ask Him to use you this day for His purposes. Ask Him to give you all the courage and strength to do His will and He will.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, You know that this is another day and I need Your strength. I want to do Your will in my life today and I pray that You will help me resist Satan and his lies. Help me to renounce all fear and to run to You. I come now Lord, running to Your loving and strong arms, thanking You that You will draw close to me. I go forward now in Your strength and power to do what You would have me do today. In Jesus name.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
“Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.”
Psalms 37:3-5

TODAY’S MESSAGE
Attitude is everything. How we react to situations makes all the difference in the world. David knew this and God shared with him the secret to spiritual success. First, when circumstances arise, we are to trust in the Lord. We need to move ahead in faith. But even going forward in faith, if we want to experience  the joy in the journey, we need to take the time to delight in God. Getting to know Him, building a relationship and learning to really enjoy living for God will keep us through the difficult times. Secondly, we need to come to God with total commitment. How many times do we start out with trust and delight in God, but when things go sour, or when there seems to be no relief in sight, we give up. Committing everything to God means we trust Him for the long run. Today we can start our journey with the attitude that David had. Today we can bring everything to God and trust, delight and commit.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, help me with my attitude. I  come to You today and trust You with my life. Help me know You and delight in You. Lord, I commit everything I am and have to You and thanking You that You will indeed help me. In Jesus name.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
“Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.”
I Timothy 6: 6-8

TODAY’S MESSAGE
What if the world really believed today‘s passage? How far would corruption get? How about envy, jealously, bribery? If contentment was our goal instead of wealth, fame or one-upmanship how much better would the world be? How better would our life be? But why would the world do this if the church isn’t? When is the last time you heard a sermon on contentment? Instead, how many times do we think a person who is successful in business should be our spiritual leader? A person in a lesser station in life could be very devout in their faith yet never be considered an eligible leader. This is simply wrong. Paul is teaching us true Kingdom standards. He is saying that being Godly and having contentment is true wealth in the Kingdom’s currency. If we have our basic needs met it is not wrong to be satisfied with that and seek to devote our time to Spiritual pursuits. In today’s world, most of us have an opportunity to make a good living. Some will make an extraordinary amount of money and have what the world calls success, but all of us can have contentment. All of us can be rich in the kingdom of God. Today let’s find it in our hearts to be thankful and pray that God would teach us more about contentment.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, I have so much to be thankful for, yet I wrestle with being content. Help me understand your values. Help me to strive after Godliness. Teach me about true contentment, so I may have life’s true wealth.
AMEN
