TODAY’S VERSE
“But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.”
Mark 11:25 (NLT)

TODAY’S MESSAGE
Forgiveness can be difficult. It is so hard to forgive some of the offences against us. But we must remember that forgiveness is a very important part of our spirituality. We go to church, we pray, we read the scriptures. This is all good, but Jesus is making it clear, the true test for real Christianity is to forgive others. That is because all of Christianity is built on forgiveness. Where would we be without the forgiveness of Christ? In “Steps To Freedom In Christ”, Neil Anderson shares the following six important elements to forgiveness. 1. Forgiveness is not forgetting rather forgetting is a long-term by-product of forgiveness. 2. Forgiveness is a choice, a decision of the will. We can’t wait until we feel like forgiving or roots of bitterness could begin to fester in our heart. 3. Forgiveness is agreeing to live with the consequences of another person’s sin. Do we have a choice? The only thing we can choose is whether we will live with the consequences in the freedom of forgiveness or the bondage of bitterness. 4. We forgive from our heart. It is not a head exercise. It is a painful awareness of what we are forgiving and an emotional choice to forgive the way Christ forgives. 5. Forgiveness is choosing not to hold someone’s sin against him or her anymore. This is really hard. We want to hold on to bitterness and anger, but that is not forgiveness. We must give the situation back to God and let go. Let God deal with those who have hurt us. 6. Finally, do not wait until you feel like forgiving. If you do, you will never get there. Make a hard choice to forgive, even when you don’t feel like it. Today, let go of the unforgiveness that is eating you up inside. Choose to follow God and let Him help you forgive.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Lord Jesus, You know the pain I harbor in my heart. Forgiveness seems so far from my grasp, yet I know that You have commanded me to forgive. Help me to forgive those who have offended me like You have so graciously forgiven me. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
“We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.”
I John 4:16 (NLT)
TODAY’S MESSAGE
Trust is a beautiful word. According to Merriam-Webster it means, “Assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something.” Now put the word “trust” with the word “love” and you really have a concept. John did just that. He wrote, “We have put our trust in his love.” When is the last time you put your assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of God’s love? John could have suggested putting trust in God’s strength or His power. How about His wisdom? The truth is, when we get God’s love, we get everything else. We get all of God wrapped in His amazing unconditional love. So today when you are tempted to go to no ends to try to solve everything your own way, when you are slipping into anxious thinking or fearful apprehension, stop and trust in His love. Simply trust in all that He is, loving all that you are.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, help me today to really put my trust in Your love.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
“Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other.”
I John 4:7-11 (NLT)

TODAY’S MESSAGE
How can we miss it? How could God make it any clearer? There is one central theme throughout the Bible and yet we don’t seem to get it. It is not optional. It is not a suggestion. When asked what the greatest commandment is, Jesus said that it consisted of one thing! It was love. We are to love God with everything we have and to love our neighbor in the same way. John, the disciple who Jesus loved, says the same thing. He says that if we know God, we will love because God is love. God Himself set the example by giving the extreme example of love. He gave the life of His own son as a sacrifice for our own sins. How then can we argue with John’s conclusion? Might it be the theme for today, “Since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other.”

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I need Your strength. I need Your power. I need Your heart, in order to love in the way You love. Help me to love all those that come my way today. Help me make love a priority in my life. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
“We know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.”
Galatians 2:16 (NLT)

TODAY’S MESSAGE
What happens? When we first become a Christian, we revel in His forgiveness. We knew that it was only His grace that could ever clean and forgive us from our past sins. And yet as time goes by we get sucked into believing we somehow “earned” His forgiveness. We live as if God’s love was conditional and we were good enough to earn it. And so we begin to play a game of hiding our sins, pretending to be “perfect” instead of perfectly forgiven. The authors in the book “TrueFaced” write, “As we try to hide the sins we can’t control, we are unwittingly inviting blame, shame, denial, fear and anger to become our constant companions. A theology of more right, less wrong behavior creates an environment that gives people permission to wear dozens of disguises and masks. It triggers and complicates the chain reaction of unresolved sin, causing us to lose hope.” This leads to us trying to “please” God and others by trying to be something we aren’t. We play a role of “perfect pleasing Christian” instead of being grateful and trusting God for our full forgiveness. It is our trust in His sacrifice and forgiveness that pleases God, not some sanctimonious pretence of being righteous. It is our trust in what God means when He says that we are a “new creature” in Christ. We trust in the reality that we are different, we have received a new heart, a brand new identity that is in a process of being changed more and more into His likeness. Today, let us live by faith. Faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ and trust in the fact that we are saved by grace not works. Today trust the love that God has for you and rejoice that your name is written in the “Lamb’s Book of Life.”

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, if you were to judge me according to my sins, I would never be able to sit here, praying in Your presence. Instead, You have lavished Your unconditional love upon me. I am forgiven! I am a new creature. I am loved. Thank You for Your grace. Thank You for my new identity in You. In Jesus’ name I pray.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
“They tell the seers, ‘Stop seeing visions!’ They tell the prophets, ‘Don’t tell us what is right. Tell us nice things. Tell us lies. Forget all this gloom. Get off your narrow path. Stop telling us about your Holy One of Israel.’”
Isaiah 30:10-11 (NLT)

TODAY’S MESSAGE
Have you ever been at the place where the last thing you want to hear is a word from God? You know, nothing like a “twinge of conscience” to ruin a “good time.” Who needs a sermon that meddles in our affairs? That is what the children of Israel felt like. They wanted to abolish visions and prophetic messages. Instead they wanted the prophets to tell them nice lies. They didn’t want gloom and doom. They didn’t want to live in the narrow way. It’s easy to get this way. It starts slowly, like a frog in boiling water. If we knew the attitude we were cultivating was going to reach the boiling point we would never allow it to grow, but apathy never starts out that strong. It is subtle. It is a slow process. We become too busy for Spiritual discipline. We begin to fill our mind with television and internet. Work and other affairs begin to distance us from church and fellowship with other Christians. Our conscience begins to convict us but we find it easier and easier to ignore. Where are you? Do you feel far from God? Who moved? God is always there, His love for you in unconditional. Turn to Him today while there is time. Before your heart gets to hardened, tell God how sorry you are. Repent, come back to God and you will find Him there. He is ready to forgive you and restore you to a real and relevant fellowship with Himself.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, You know how far I have wandered from You. Forgive me. I desire today to renew my fellowship with You. Restore my heart. I want to hear Your voice. I desire to do Your will. Hear me dear Lord, guide and direct me I pray, in Jesus’ name.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
“But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the LORD: ‘I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins.’”
Hebrews 8:10, 12 (NTL)

TODAY’S MESSAGE
We get married and say, “For better or for worst.” We buy a house and sign a loan agreement. We get bids on a job and award a contract. We accept a job for an agreed upon salary. We live much of our life with promises, contracts, pledges and covenants. How difficult is it when one of them is broken? Doesn’t it play havoc with our life? That is why I find it fascinating that God has actually made a covenant with us. Who are we that God would make us a promise? And yet what a promise He has made. And what I love the best is God does not break His promises. In today’s passage God is saying that He is making a covenant with us. He promises to make us His people by working in our heart and mind. He promises to be our God. And God is so serious about this that He takes away the one barrier that could ruin the whole promise. He does it with a promise of His own. He makes a covenant with you and I to absolutely forgive our wickedness and to never, never, not ever remember any of our sins. How great is that? How awesome? Only God could make a promise like that! Only God can keep it. Today, take God at His word and confess all your sins to Him. Let Him love you, let Him totally forgive You.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, thank You for Your precious promises. Thank You for promising to never remember any of my sins. I come to You today for total forgiveness and freedom.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
“Now may the God of peace—may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.”
Hebrews 13:20-21 (NLT)

TODAY’S MESSAGE
Isn’t it exciting to know that God is more interested in you doing good than you are. In fact, He is so invested in your success that He will equip you to do everything He wants you to do. He is going to produce every good thing that is pleasing to Him through the power of Jesus Christ! No wonder the author could finish this passage by saying, “All glory to Him forever and ever! Amen.” Today you can bring glory to God by living the way He has called you to. Ask Him to help you do His will. Ask Him to provide all the power you will need to do every good thing that would please Him today.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, thank You for equipping me with everything I need to do Your will. Thank You for Your power that You make available to me so I can do every good thing that is pleasing to You. Give me the strength to live for You this day. Give me the wisdom to know what to do, the courage to follow through and the faith to trust You with the outcome.
AMEN
