TODAY’S VERSE
“Listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is declared right with God.”
Acts 13:38-39 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
“Being right with God.” Now there is a wonderful thought! It’s more than forgiveness of sins. It’s more than being His child. It is the thought, intention and will of God being focused on you. You are right with God! It is being in His mind, in His heart and knowing that all the love of a God who IS love is unconditionally yours. You are right with God. No wonder Paul had to proclaim it. So today, do what Paul said to do and listen. “Everyone who believes in Him is declared right with God.”

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear God Almighty, my heart is filled with such gratitude. Thank You for my salvation. Thank You for forgiving me. Thank You for making me right with You. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I am right with God
Focus on what it must feel to be totally loved by someone. Someone who has wonderful thoughts of you. Someone who is happy to be with you and see you and hold you dear in their heart. This is what it is to be right with God. Sense His love toward you. Feel His affection and total acceptance of you. Today, let the love of God fill your heart, for you are right with God!

TODAY’S VERSE
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love”
John 15:9 (NIV)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
I have had Christians chide me for my passion over the unconditional love of God. What about the Holiness of God, the part of God that hates sin? And yes, I understand that God is Holy and that He doesn’t have to love us at all – but He does. He chooses to. He sees my sin and then He sees the sacrifice of His son. Jesus Himself said it, “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you.” How much does the Holy Father love His only begotten? Can we fathom it? And Jesus makes only one request. That we understand it? That we rationalize it? That we argue over it? No, He asks us to remain in His love. Like myself, Brennan Manning taught for years about the love of God without personally understanding its depths. Manning speaks of his own awakening in his book, Abba’s Child. He writes, “Unwittingly I had projected onto God my feelings about myself. I felt safe with Him only when I saw myself as noble, generous, and loving, without scars, fears, or tears. Perfect! But on that day in Colorado I came out of hiding. Jesus removed the shroud of perfectionist performance and now, forgiven and free, I ran home. For I knew someone was there for me. — I finally felt all the words I have written and spoken about stubborn, unrelenting love. That morning I understood that the words are but straw compared to the reality. I leaped from simply being the teacher of God’s love to becoming Abba’s delight.” Today, you too can leap from reading to reality. Quit trying to earn His love and accept the unconditional love He has for you.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, dear Father. How long have I felt unworthy of your affection? How long have I strived trying to win Your approval?  But today I quit. Today I quit trying to earn Your love. Today I surrender. I surrender to Your word and accept the love that You freely have for me. Thank you Father for Your unconditional love.

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I am loved by God unconditionally
It is hard to shut off all the negative thinking in our head. It is hard to accept the love that God freely offers. Today focus on His love for you. Feel it surrounding you and covering you. Sense His supernatural devotion focused on you. Experience the feeling that you are thought of and help deeply in God’s own heart. Affirm that you are loved unconditionally by God.

TODAY’S VERSE
“For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 17:14 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
It is so easy to get our priorities mixed up isn’t it? We tend to put life into a box full of rules, regulations and standards by which to measure ourself. We must look a certain way, think a certain way, achieve certain levels of accomplishments, acquire the right kind of accessories. Then we come up with all sorts of core beliefs that sustain these rules. For example, we may believe, deep in our heart, that if we don’t accomplish a certain goal, we will not be liked. If we don’t drive the right kind of car or live in the right kind of community, people will think little of us. Of course, these thoughts alone don’t motivate us, it is the perceived “terrible” consequences such as rejection, abandonment, punishment or worst, annihilation that frightens us to death and drives us to succeed at any cost. The fact is, these “terrible” results are only in our mind! We will not die if certain people do not like us. We are not a “loser” that will be totally annihilated if we do not live in the “right” house. Instead, Paul points out what we should really strive for. We should strive to live a good righteous life. We should seek joy and peace through the Holy Spirit. These are the important things in life. And best of all, these are freely given to any person who asks. When we come to God seeking these very things, He will not turn us away. It is His will that you live righteously, full of peace and joy through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. What do you want? Begin today to seek the things that really matter. Follow God, He will not disappoint.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, You know what is really important. You know that I have bought so many lies about success and self worth. I need Your help to know the truth. So, please Lord, help me live a life of goodness today. Please give me what really matters, that is joy and peace which comes from Your Holy Spirit. Help me live today in a way that is pleasing to you.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I get joy and peace from living for God
Picture yourself pushing a large car uphill. Feel your muscles strain and sense fatigue and desperation coming upon you. See this as trying to find your own peace in joy by jumping through everyone else’s hoops. Now hop in the automobile with it pointing down hill. Put it in neutral and see how effortless it moves by itself. See this as living for God and enjoying His peace and joy. Today choose to live for God. See it in your mind. Sense the peace and joy in your body that comes from following God.

TODAY’S VERSE
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”’
Matthew 9:36-38 (NIV)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Everyone has a story. Everyone hurts sometime. If not now, wait ten minutes. It is a hurting world. This is what Jesus saw. He saw the crowds, harassed and helpless. He compared them to lost sheep without a shepherd to protect them. And when He saw them, He had compassion. Why? Because He was God incarnate! God in the flesh. All you have to do, to understand why Jesus reacted the way He did, is to read the Old Testament. God Jehovah had compassion on the poor and needy. Even in Proverbs, Solomon gives us instruction to help those in need. He writes, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” We are to defend the rights of the poor and needy. But you ask, “What can I do?” I don’t know. All I can say is that I asked God, “What can I do?” and He has given me more than I can handle. It starts with your willing heart. From your heart it moves to your eyes. Next it moves to your head, then to your hands and feet. If you are willing to be used on behalf of the needy and ask God to help you help others, His love takes over. His compassion will be more than you could ever begin to contain. His miracles on behalf of the needy will be more than you can keep up with. God loves His human race, but He ordained His church to be His hands and feet. When Jesus saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he called his disciples for help. He is still calling! What will you do?

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, where do I begin? There are so many needs, so many hurting and dying. But You have me here, where I am right now, so I ask You to use me today, right her, right now, to make a difference in someone’s life. Help me see with Your eyes, love with Your heart and move with Your power. In Jesus’ Name.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
God has called me to make a difference
Picture Jesus walking through the crowds of people. See them through His eyes. Feel His compassion, His mercy, His resolve to help them. See Him pray for the sick, heal the hurting and those that were spiritually and emotional distraught. Visualize yourself walking with Him and He turns to you and says, “I want you to go and do the same as I am doing.” At first you are full of doubts but then you sense that Jesus has asked you to do it and He will empower you. You look at Him and say, “Yes Lord, I will go and make a difference in Your name.”

TODAY’S VERSE
“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” – “When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, ‘Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.’ So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.”
John 6:9, 12-13 (NIV)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
I love the Lord’s math. He made the whole creation out of nothing! He took the death of one man, Jesus, and is able to forgive the sins of every person that comes to Him. He took the boy’s five loaves and two fishes and fed thousands of people. Can you imagine what He can do with our one life if we dedicated it to Him? God is the God of compound interest! He can take the little that we have and compound it into an eternity of impact for His purposes. Today, do not despair if all you have is a few loaves and fishes. Bring what you have to God. Give Him your life. Consecrate it to Him for His service and then get out of the way! God is waiting to compound the willingness of His people.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, thank You that You can take my life and use it for Your service. I pray, Father, take what I have and multiply it for Your good. I give You my life, here I am Lord, use me.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I give my life to God for His service
Picture yourself as the boy with the loafs of bread and fish. Jesus comes along and takes it and multiplies it feeding thousands of people. Now picture Him coming to you. See yourself giving Him your life, your talents, your possessions. Picture God taking you, just the way you are, and using you for His glory.

TODAY’S VERSE
“While knowledge makes us feel important, it is love that strengthens the church.”
I Corinthians 8:1 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
We live in a society where knowledge is worshipped. Our whole western culture put a premium on left brain logic and knowledge. We get report cards that tell how good we are at learning. In the church we have our own reverence for knowledge. We want to know all about God. We want to “know” the word. And although the scriptures ask us to “correctly handle the word of truth” the first part of that same verse says, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed.” Knowing God’s word is important, but what is it without love? Paul says, “If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.” So today, make up your mind to “know” God not just “know about” God. And if you are really going to know God, then you must “know” love.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I want to know You more. But I want to know You by knowing and living a life of love. Help me to this end I pray.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I will live a life of love
In today’s meditation, see God in His true form. See Him as love. Meditate on what pure love would be like. See yourself as the focus of His love. And then see God commissioning you to be His disciple of this same kind of love. Picture yourself growing in your experience and knowledge of God’s love. Today affirm, “I will live a life of love.”

TODAY’S VERSE
“And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, ‘God is tempting me.’ God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.”
James 1:13-15 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Temptation. Who has not felt its sting? Who has not been knocked in the gut and brought to their knees by this cancer of our soul? What keeps us in such bondage is the mistaken belief that temptations are “out there”. We see them as external enemies sneaking around waiting to ambush us. Now it is true that we have an enemy of our very soul, the devil, and he does seek to devour us, but James shares that the root of our temptations come from within us. James says that “temptations come from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions.” We can blame the magazine publisher or the movie producer but it is our own lust, our own unmet needs or misguided thinking that has caused us to dwell on pornography. It is our own misbeliefs and internal dialog that keep us coming back to drugs so we can self medicate. That is why Paul makes it clear that God is the one that must help us. He writes, “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” (I Corinthians 10:13 – NIV) What God’s grace does not prevent, because of our own humanness, God’s grace forgives. The Apostle John wrote, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:8-9) Today, let Jesus untie the ropes that bind you. Like Peter, get up from the cell you are in. You are free! You have been liberated. Hear the words of Jesus, “Arise and sin no more.”  “My son, my daughter, go, your sins have been forgiven you!”

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear liberator of my soul, I bring you my shackles. Take them. I bring you the key to my heart, unlock it. Heal me from the inside. Defeat my misguided thoughts, cast down the enemy of my soul. I look to you, who knows me better than I know myself. By your power, in your grace, because of your mercy, free me, forgive me. In Jesus’ name I pray.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
God gives me grace to overcome temptations
Picture yourself wearing large gloves all day long. You are trying to eat, type, sew, tie your shoes and other tasks with great difficulty. You just can’t get the job done with such cumbersome hands. Feel the frustration and then you realize, I am this way because of the gloves but I do not have to wear the gloves. Feel the joy as you take the gloves off and begin to act the way you were born to. Picture yourself in a situation with a temptation. Feel the frustration you experience with the temptation. But then you realize, I have the temptation, I am not the temptation. Like the gloves picture God helping you rid yourself of the temptation and giving you the strength to live the way He created you to live.
