Dare To Hope

TODAY’S VERSE

I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope
Lamentations 3:20 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
In the scriptures it shares that the Lords allows the rain to fall on the “just and the unjust.” Sadness happens. We all have grief to bear. We all have a story. Today’s verse shares Jeremiah’s lament over the capture and exile of Israel. He will never forget how awful the capture was and the horrible grief over losing their homes, family and the life they lived. Yet Jeremiah dared to hope. And his hope is our hope. Listen to what he writes, “Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.” Today, you have hope. God faithfulness to you is great. Everyday His mercies begin all over. You will have what you need for today because His love for you never ends and His mercy will never cease.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, I come to You with my grief and concerns. I lean into You for Your unfailing love and Your never ending mercy. I praise You for great is Your faithfulness to me.
AMEN

Prayer

TODAY’S VERSE

Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.
Colossians 4:2 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
For some the only time we pray is when the Pastor leads us in prayer on Sunday. But Paul is asking for more than a casual attitude about prayer. He is asking us to devote ourself to prayer. This is more, much more. This kind of prayer is a conversation, a relationship, a joint mission with God. It is a way of life and continuous conversation with Him. That is why Paul said to be alert and thankful. We are to be alert looking for opportunities to join God in His mission. And we are to have a thankful heart no matter what comes our way because we have a heart that trusts and adores God. Isn’t it time you devoted yourself to prayer?

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, I want to join You in Your mission in this world. Help me to devote myself to prayer with an alert mind and thankful heart.
AMEN
