TODAY’S VERSE
Lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.
Ephesians 1:1 (NLT)
TODAY’S THOUGHT
We have been called by God to be His ambassador. We are His children. How then shall we live? Paul writes that we should live in a way that is worthy of being God’s child. And then he writes out a list of behavior that will guide and lead us as representatives of Jesus. He writes, “Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.” Humility, gentleness, patience, loving each other and being united in the Spirit are the hallmarks of the Christian life. But how? How can we do this? We can’t. We must depend on the Spirit of God. Paul writes to the Galatians, “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Today, live a life worthy of the Lord by living under the direction and influence of God’s Holy Spirit.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Oh Lord, help me live a life worthy of being your child. Holy Spirit please produce Your fruit in my life.
AMEN
