Immanuel

TODAY’S VERSE
All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often.
Luke 2:18-19 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
The Shepherd’s had just come from seeing the baby Jesus. An Angel had told them all about the birth so they went to worship. When it was all over they were telling everyone and those that heard the story were astonished. Now who would be more astonished than Mary? She too was visited by an angel. She too was witness to this magnificent moment. What I love is that this wasn’t just a moment in time for her. It was a moment of revelation. She of all people knew that God had performed a miracle and indeed the Son of God was born. Today’s verse says, “Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often.” We need to do the same. Christmas comes once a year but the presence of Immanuel is with us every day.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Lord, what a miracle. That You would come to earth as a baby so You could grow to become Immanuel. Might I be conscious of the Immanuel truth, that you are with me, each and every day.
AMEN

May You have a wonderful Christmas and a tremendous New Year!
