A New Sphere

You must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 3:18 (NLT)

Peter is saying that we need to grow “in” grace. The normal use of the word “in” meant like walking through a door. You go into another room. You come and you go. But Peter is suggesting much more!!! Peter writes that we are to grow in Grace. He uses the other word for “in.” A word that means moving and living in a whole new sphere of reality. Peter is saying that as a Christian even though we are on earth we are living in another sphere or reality of God’s grace and knowledge. Grace is God’s favor, affection, mercy and thoughts toward you. Knowledge is “experientially knowing” something. It is a working knowledge gleaned from personal experience! Today, stop and realize where you live. You live in a spiritual sphere in which you grow in and have first-hand knowledge of God’s favor, affection and mercy. Welcome to this new world!

Dear Father, thank You for inviting me to live in this new sphere of grace and knowledge. Help me enter into it fully and grow and mature in this atmosphere of Your favor, affection and mercy.
