“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
Here we are at the beginning of a new year. The words we come to 2020 can make all the difference in our expectations. If we are struggling it is easy to see our circumstances and become pessimistic. If things are going well we may be more optimistic. No matter what our circumstances with God we can use words like faith and hope and enter the new year with joy and anticipation. God has plans for you. Both in this world and the next. He wants to prosper you. The word prosper means many things. It was used for completeness, soundness, welfare, peace, health, prosperity and contentment. Any one of those is a treasure. As you come to the end of 2019 come to God with thanksgiving and the firm belief that He cares for you. He has plans for you. He loves you and you can trust Him with 2020.
Father, I commit this new year to you. I put my trust in You believing that you have a plan for me. A plan for my own good. A plan with hope and a future. I come to 2020 with great expectations. Help me live this new year for you. In Jesus’ name.
