For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Romans 14:17 (NLT)
It is so easy to get caught up in all the trappings of this life. We live in a very materialistic and mechanistic world. But there is more to life than fame, fortune, and fleshly appetites. We are emotional and spiritual beings and can choose to live by different standards and values than the world. Paul wrote that the Kingdom of God is about “living a life of goodness and peace and joy.” But not just any goodness, peace, and joy. No, the source of these emotions is none other than the Holy Spirit. There is a life that God desires us to have, and the secret lies in our relationship with the Spirit. Isn’t time we get to know the Holy Spirit and let Him appropriate these qualities in our life? Today, ask the Holy Spirit to fill you, teach you, guide you, and assist you in living all that God desires for you.
Dear Holy Spirit. I ask forgiveness for my ignorance and apathy toward You. Please help me live a life of goodness, peace, and joy in and through You.
