TODAY’S VERSE
Trust in the LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
There are those times. You know, when everything around us seems to be falling apart. When nothing we do seems to be working. When even our prayers seem to be bouncing off the ceiling. It is days like this that we need to trust in God. Trust Him with all our heart. Trust in God even if everything points toward the opposite. We dare not depend on our own understanding. Instead, we need to trust His love for us and seek His will in all we do. Then God promises that He will show us which direction we should go. Today, give your situation to God. Trust Him with all Your heart and let Him direct Your path.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I come to You with my situation. You know my needs. Help me trust in You and not depend on my own understanding. Direct my path today, I pray.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God.
Titus 2:12 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Paul gives great instruction to Titus. In it we are told to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. Instead Paul tells us to live with wisdom, righteousness and devotion to God. It is interesting. Have you ever noticed how we don’t need any instructions on how to turn to godless living and sinful pleasures? It is part of our natural disposition. Our brokenness, our striving for recognition or our escape from emotional pain, drives us toward godless solutions and pleasures. How then can we overcome such temptation, such natural tendencies for self gratification? Thankfully Paul finishes his thoughts with a great truth, one that we can depend on. Paul writes, “He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.” The secret is Jesus. He came to cleanse us, free us and assist us with living for Him. Today, give your life to Him. Let Him be the source of your victorious living.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Jesus, how I thank You and praise You for freeing me from sin and cleansing me from its stain on my life. Thank You for Your assistance in helping me live the life You have called me to live. In Jesus’ name I pray.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles.
Psalms 145:5 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
I remember leading a five-day hike in the mountains. What a treat for a young man born and raised in the flat terrain of Detroit, Michigan. And yet I noticed on the second day that I had spent most of my time looking down at the trail, making sure I would not trip on the large tree roots or twist my ankle on loose rocks. All around me was some of nature’s most magnificent scenery and all I took in was the subtle shades of green and brown on the ground in front of me. How is it we can be so close to something so glorious and not take the time to capture its essence? David knew the answer. He wrote, “I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles.” David took the time to devote focused attention to God and His wonderful attributes. He dared to stop and reflect, to ponder on God’s almighty power, splendor and miracles. And when he did, he was a better man for it. You see focusing on God does not make God powerful, no more than my looking at the mountains makes them majestic. It only allows me to see and know the mysteries of what is already there. Today, don’t miss another moment. Don’t let another day go by without seeing and focusing on all that God is and all the love He has for you. He is majestic, He is full of glorious splendor and His miracles abound.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I want to know You and Your glorious splendor. Help me stop and meditate on You. Help me focus my attention, love and devotion toward You. Guide me into a deeper knowledge of You I pray.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Messiah sent from God!”
Luke 9:20 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Who am I? That is what Jesus asked Peter. He asks us the same question. Who is Jesus? But more importantly, who is Jesus to you? You could say, “He is the Savior of the world.” But how much better to believe, “He is my Savior.” You could say, “He is the friend of sinners.” But how much better to know, “He is my friend.” You could say, “He is the lover of all mankind.” But what joy if you could say, “He is the God who loves me.” Jesus isn’t so interested in what we know about Him. He cares more about how we know Him. Today, spend time with Him. Get to know Him until you can say with surety, that He is your God, your Savior, your friend and that He loves you unconditionally.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Jesus, thank You that You care. You care about my thoughts, my beliefs, my relationship with you. Help me care, too. Help me know You in a much more personal and deeper way than ever before.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
Isaiah 40:28-29 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
God was frustrated with His people. They had wandered far from Him. They would not listen to God so He sent His prophet Isaiah to ask the people, “Have you never heard? Have you never understood?” We would do well to ask ourselves these same questions whenever we read God’s word. We get so busy, so inwardly focused, that even when we read His word, we do not hear. We do not understand. We don’t begin to fathom the ramifications of the tremendous promises He gives us. In today’s passage God wanted to emphasis His patience, love, strength and commitment toward those in need. The prophet writes, “The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.” Unlike the Israelites, did you hear it? Did you understand? God is GOD! And God never grows weary of you. He wants to love and help you. He is never weak, not for a second! And He has all the power to help you in your situation. He fully understands where you are and wants to give you all the strength you will ever need to face the situation you are in. Rest assured God gives His power to us when we are totally weak and powerless. Today, might we hear His voice and understand His great love for us.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father God, help me to hear You. Help me to understand the depths of Your word. Help me know Your truth. Guide me by Your Holy Spirit, I pray.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
From the depths of despair, O LORD, I call for your help. Hear my cry, O Lord. Pay attention to my prayer. – I am counting on the LORD; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word.
Psalms 130:1,2,5 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Where would we be without hope and faith? And yet faith and hope by itself is not enough. We can have faith in the wrong thing. We can be hoping where there is no hope. But the Psalmist knew who he believed in. He knew the character and power of God, so when he was in his deepest despair, he would cry out to Him. He could count on God to hear him. He writes to Israel, “O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is unfailing love.” It was God’s unfailing love that kept him going. It got him up in the morning and allowed him to put one foot in front of the other, even when he did not know where he was going. In his depths of despair, God’s love sustained him. Today, bring your needs to God. Call on Him for help. Count on Him to come through. Today, put your faith and hope in Him.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Lord, I come and put my trust in You. I am counting on You, Lord, and Your unfailing love to sustain me. I have put my hope in You.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.
I Timothy 6:11 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
What are you pursuing? What demands your attention and devotion? What occupies your time? What do you spend your resources on? What area of your life gets your very best? The answer to these questions speak volumes about your spirituality. Paul, speaking to Timothy, encourages him to spend his life pursuing spiritual goals. He writes that he should pursue righteousness and a Godly life. In doing that he also tells him to pursue faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. Could Paul be serious? What about fame, wealth, knowledge, success, significance and security? What about a hundred other noble goals? But what if we pursued Paul’s list, what would happen? What would we end up like? I am convinced, if we focused all our intentions on the list Paul gives us, our life would be of the highest calling. We would be living life the way Jesus did. There are many good pursuits but there is only one life on this earth. Why settle for second best? If we believe anything about Christianity, then let’s pursue a life like His. Today, make it a goal in everything you do to pursue righteousness, Godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, help me pursue You and the life You want me to live. Help me live the way Jesus did. I need Your Holy Spirit to guide me, help me and give me the strength to pursue a godly life, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN
