Trust, Don’t Fear

TODAY’S VERSE
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
How many times have you tried to stop being afraid? Throughout the scriptures God tells His people to “fear not.” Here though, Solomon tries a different approach. He says to “Trust in the Lord”. But not just a casual trust; he said to trust in the Lord with all our heart. It makes sense. If we are going to stop fearing than it makes sense to replace the fear with trust. That’s exactly what Solomon meant. He said not to lean on our own understanding but to trust God and seek His will in all we do and God will lead our path. So today, don’t fear. Better yet, trust in the Lord. Bring your fears to Him.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, thank You for being there. Today, instead of fearing or leaning to my own understanding, I will put my trust in You.
AMEN

Godly Vision

TODAY’S VERSE
“May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.”
II Thessalonians 3:5 (NLT)

TODAY’S MESSAGE
In their ground breaking work, the authors of “The Life Model” and “Thrive”, have come up with nineteen key skills in helping ourselves remain spiritually healthy and alive. The thirteenth skill is to “See What God Sees.” They explain it this way, “Hope and direction come from seeing situations, ourselves and others the way they were meant to be instead of seeing what went wrong. This spiritual vision guides our training and restoration. Even forgiveness flows from seeing people’s purpose as more important than their malfunctions and makes us a restorative community instead of an accusing one. Through our hearts we see the spiritual vision God sees.” In today’s passage Paul wrote about using your heart to see what God sees. He writes, “May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding of the love of God.” When you truly see the situations you are in through God’s eyes, He will lead you to His love. It will always be about His love. This is turn will result in patient endurance. Today, try to see the world you live and work in through His eyes. Let God’s vision and love permeate everything you do.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, give me spiritual vision. Help me see what You see today. Lead my heart into a full understanding and expression of Your love so I can apply it to my life and those around me. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN
