The Lord Almighty

TODAY’S VERSE
“The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”
Psalms 46:7 (NIV)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
It is amazing to see the difference one sentence can make. Especially when it carries such an important message. But if this passage is such a revelation, why do most of walk around discouraged, overwhelmed and stressed out with life issues? What does it take to make a sentence go from the head to the heart? How can focusing on the reality of Almighty God in our life make a difference? How would waking tomorrow morning, conscious of what David is expressing in this verse, change our plans or behavior? What would you do different knowing that the Lord Almighty is right there with you? The reality is that God is with us. He is our fortress, He is Almighty. Might this truth sink in and cause us to live accordingly.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, make me aware of Your presence. Help me to see You in all Your power and glory. Help me trust You for everything I do this day. In Jesus name.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I am aware of God’s presence.
Quiet your heart before God and pray, “Lord, I come to sense Your presence. Draw me close to You.”
You may want to close your eyes, or lift your hands or put your hands in front of you with palms facing upward. This “open” stance sets your mind to a readiness of acceptance.
Quietly whisper again, “Your presence Lord, let me sense Your presence.”
Now meditate on who He. He is love, goodness, truth, power and knowledge. Muse on each of these attributes and let the presence of God fill your heart.

Peace, Love and Grace

TODAY’S VERSE
Peace be with you, dear brothers and sisters, and may God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you love with faithfulness. May God’s grace be eternally upon all who love our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 6:23-24 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Paul knew how to end a letter. I can imagine him thinking, “What three things would my dear brothers and sisters in Christ need the most in the world? What would help them with any situation? What would give them the strength to carry on? What would be worth dying for? What would make life worth living?” This was more than the granting of three wishes. Paul prayed with the full knowledge that what he prayed could be our reality. He prayed that God would give you peace. He prayed that the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ would give you love. And finally, that God’s own grace would be on you for all eternity. Peace, love and grace. What could you do with that today? How much would you keep for yourself? How much would you give away? And what do you do when someone offers you a gift? You take it. So today, might you take and be conscious of all the peace, love and grace God has for you.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, thank You for Your peace, love and grace that You have for me. I pray that today I might really begin to experience the effects of Your peace, love and grace in all that I do. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

Worthy Of His Calling

TODAY’S VERSE
“With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
II Thessalonians 1:11-12

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Did anyone ever ask you, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Or have you ever taken a test to help you determine your passions and purpose in life? You could spend your whole life trying to find your purpose, that perfect job or the fulfillment of your childhood dream and never come close to what Paul was praying for the Christians in Thessalonica. What a magnificent prayer. The good news is that you can pray the same thing for yourself. He has called you to serve Him and you can pray with Paul, “that by His power He may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith.” Can you imagine that? You see, this is God’s true desire for you, to use His power to help you fulfill every good purpose of yours. The result is that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in your life! So, what good purpose do you have today? What act prompted by your faith will you engage in today? Might He empower you by His grace to do all that He has called you to this day, so that He Himself will be glorified.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I thank You that You can fulfill every good purpose of mine and every act prompted by my faith! What an exciting thought. Please help me understand what this really means in my life. Help me not to waste this precious life You have given me. Might I live it today for Your glory.
AMEN
