New Start

TODAY’S VERSE
“Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.”
Romans 6:4 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
A new life. What would that be like? A do over. A get out of jail free card. What if you really could begin again? What would change? What would you do different? It seems so impossible, but Christ came to give us a new life. Jesus Himself used the word “born again” when describing those who decide to follow Him. God knew us from the beginning of time and created us for His purposes and though our life may seem like one mistake after another, one wrong turn followed by another, God can change everything. This same power that God used to raise Jesus from the dead, is the power He wants to use in helping you begin to live a new life. Today, come to Him. Surrender your life and ask Him to help you start afresh. He will. He will hear your prayer and give you the new chance you have been looking for. His love for you is boundless. His promise is sure. All God desires is a contrite and humble heart. He promises that He will not reject your plea if you come to Him with a broken and repentant heart.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I need a new start. I ask, dear Lord, that You use that same power that You used to raise Jesus from the dead to help me live a new life. I surrender to You and ask for Your help today. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

His Love

TODAY’S VERSE
“But each day the LORD pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life.”
Psalms 42:8 (NLT)

“Either way, Christ’s love controls us.”
II Corinthians 5:14 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
What are you passionate about?  What consumes you? What forces do you allow to shape your everyday experience? You have a choice you know. You can decide what you are going to allow to guide you. The Psalmist chose to look at life through the lens of God’s almighty love. His love is there everyday waiting for your discovery. Jeremiah said that God’s mercies are new every morning. Here the author says that every day God pours His unfailing love upon him. He couldn’t help but sing songs of praise and share life with Almighty God who gave him life. Paul shares how the “love of Christ” controlled him. Likewise, God’s love for you is unlimited. It is unfailing. His grace is sufficient for all you need in this life. Don’t go another day without it. How sad it would be to live your whole life in paradise and never go outside. Stop today, acknowledge His love, give Him your praise. Spend time with God and let His love control your life.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank You for Your love. I thank You that Your love for me is unfailing. I ask that Your Holy Spirit would guide and direct my life and that the love of Christ would consume and control me. Thank You, Father, in Jesus’ name.
AMEN

His Love

TODAY’S VERSE
“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”
Ephesians 3:18-19 (NIV)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
There is no greater occupation for the Christian than to know the love of God. Paul prayed that we would be gifted with the power needed to fully understand it. He prayed that we would be able to experience God’s love even though it is way beyond our comprehension. Why? Because that is the only way we will ever be complete in Him. It is in truly knowing God’s love that we are endowed with the fullness of life and power that comes from God. In his book, “Surrender To Love”, the author David Benner writes, “The Christian spiritual journey consists of more than surrender to love. But it contains nothing more important. Surrender to God’s love involves confession, repentance, obedience and service. But as I have noted, for surrender to be transformational it must be surrender to love. And for it to lead to union with God, it must be surrender to perfect love. Christian spirituality begins with love and ends with love.” Today God will provide all the power you will ever need to understand His love but you must surrender. Come, spend time with Him and begin to know how wide, long, high and deep His love truly is.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Lord, I long to know You and all the fullness of Your love for me. I surrender to it. I need it. I come humbly before You and ask You to show me the mystery of Your love for me.
AMEN

God Is Love

TODAY’S VERSE
“Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. – This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.”
I John 4:7-8, 10-12 (NLT)

TODAY’S MESSAGE
We cannot separate Christianity from its roots found deep in love. It was in love that we were created. It is in love that our sins are forgiven. It is in love that we are to live for Jesus. In his book “Surrender To Love” Dr. David G. Benner writes, “Christianity is the world’s great love religion. The Christian God comes to us as love, in love and for love. The Christian God woos us with love and works our transformation through love. – Only love can soften a hard heart. Only love can renew trust after it has been shattered. Only love can inspire acts of genuine self-sacrifice. Only love can free us from the tyrannizing effects of fear. There is nothing more important in life than learning to love and be loved. Jesus elevated love as the goal of spiritual transformation.” How about you? Have you surrendered to God’s love? Have you accepted His free gift of salvation and His unconditional love He has for you? If not, surrender today. Give Christ your heart. Let His love wash over your soul and renew you from the inside out. God is love and He loves you. Live in that love.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, You indeed are love. It is your essence. Your love is pure and powerful and You have set Your affection on me. Thank You for Your love. I accept it and want to live every moment in the keen awareness that You love me. Help me to that end. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN
