Devoted To Prayer

TODAY’S VERSE
Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.

TODAY’S THOUGHT
For some, the only time we pray is when the Pastor leads us in prayer on Sunday. But Paul is asking for more than a casual attitude about prayer. He is asking us to devote ourselves to prayer. This is more, much more. This kind of prayer is a conversation, a relationship, and a joint mission with God. It is a way of life and continuous dialogue with Him. That is why Paul said to be alert and thankful. We must be vigilant in seeking opportunities to join God in His mission. And we are to have a thankful heart no matter what comes our way because we have a heart that trusts and adores God. Isn’t it time you devoted yourself to prayer?

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, I want to join You in Your mission in this world. Help me to devote myself to prayer with an alert mind and thankful heart.
