Perfect Peace

TODAY’S VERSE
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Perfect peace. I have a hard time comprehending that. Perfect peace. I take a deep relaxing breath just thinking about it. That is what God is promising us if we trust in Him. Why? Because He is trustworthy! He can be trusted. But trusting is more than just saying we trust Him. Isaiah qualifies the kind of trust we need to have perfect peace. It is the trust that keeps our thoughts fixed on God. Fixed on His love. Fixed on His compassion. Fixed on His grace. Fixed on His provision. Fixed on His promises. Fixed on His almighty power. Today, let’s experience that perfect peace. We can start right now by fixing our thoughts on Him and keeping them there throughout the day.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Lord, I desire Your perfect peace! Please help me trust in You by focusing my attention on You and all that You will provide to get me through this day. Please, Lord, when my thoughts wander and peace starts to flee, nudge me and help me to refocus on You again. Thank You. In Jesus’ Name.
AMEN

God’s Throne

TODAY’S VERSE
So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”
Hebrew 4:14-16 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Sometimes you need a helping hand. You need someone who understands what you are going through and can help you navigate difficult times. Jesus is that intercessor. He is God with all the power and wisdom we need, yet because of His volunteer time spent on earth in human form, He knows exactly what we are going through. He knows all our limitations, frailty, emotions and how to work with them and live a victorious life. He can guide us down the same path of faith, strength, hope, and love that He took. So let’s do what the author of Hebrews suggests. Let’s come boldly to our gracious God and ask Him for the help we need today. We will find Him gracious, compassionate and able to help us when we need it the most.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Jesus, I come to You because You know all about me. You know my situation. You know my thoughts, my frustrations, and my desires. You know my needs. I come to You because You are the Almighty God and can do all things. I give You this day with all of its challenges, struggles, and complexities. Make me conscious of Your presence as You meet the deepest needs of my heart and life today. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

True Joy

TODAY’S VERSE
It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening.
Psalms 92:1,2 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
You can’t eat one meal and say that is enough for the rest of the month. It is not good enough to take one breath and quit. Most of life seems to have a rhythm, a sustainability that comes from repeated processes. So it is with praise and joy. It is not good enough to have had joy once upon a time. You can’t live a victorious Christian life on memories of better days. No, with God, every day has its measure of mercy and grace. Every day has the presence of God. The question is, “Are we aware of it?” If we are going to get all we can out of life, then we need to make a conscious effort to be aware of the presence of God. Nehemiah wrote, “The joy of the Lord is my strength.” How true. What better way find joy than to proclaim His love in the morning and, when the day is over, purposely reflect on His faithfulness.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Praise You, dear God, for Your love for me. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Help me to sing Your praises, to have a heart of gladness and a spirit of thankfulness for all You have done for me. Help me to proclaim Your love every morning and Your faithfulness every night. Might Your joy be my strength today. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

Confidence In God’s Help

TODAY’S VERSE
So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
Hebrews 13:6 (NIV)

TODAY’S MESSAGE
Have you ever said anything with confidence? It is different than saying “I think so,” “Perhaps,” “Maybe” or “We’ll see.” Confidence connotes a certainty, an assurance that what we believe is true. Because we believe in a God that will never forsake us, a heavenly Father who will never abandon us, we can have confidence that this same God is our helper, our strength, our shield, our shelter in the storm, our rock of ages, our mighty fortress, our protector, our hope, our Savior. Yes, we can say with confidence, “Today, I will not be afraid!”

TODAY’S PRAYER
Thank You, Mighty God, that You have chosen to be my helper. You have reached down to me and have assured me that You care, that You will always have my soul in Your hand. I thank You with confidence in my heart that what You say is true and every thought, fear, apprehension, and doubt that stands against this confidence is a lie. I accept Your help today. I will trust You and not be afraid. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

Heaven On Earth

TODAY’S VERSE
Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Matthew 6:10 (NIV)

TODAY’S MESSAGE
It is impossible to truly understand this life without considering the next life. If we are to comprehend God’s will on earth, then we must be conscious of His kingdom and let it influence our thoughts and actions. You see, nothing really makes sense in this world without a heavenly perspective. Thank God that Jesus was the bridge between the two worlds. He is the resurrection into the next world and the key to life in this one. So today, take time to invite His Kingdom to invade yours. Make room for heaven in your life. Ask God to make you really conscious of His presence right now and to influence all you think and do this day.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I confess I have had my eyes to the ground, busy focusing on my life in this world. I invite You now to invade my presence and help me see life from Your perspective. Thank You for Your resurrection and how it provides the way for me to live with You for all eternity. Help me to start living in eternity right now. May Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
AMEN

Encouragement

TODAY’S VERSE
Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
Ephesians 4:29 (NLT)

TODAY’S MESSAGE
What a wonderful calling. What a tremendous privilege is ours. God has called us to be an encourager. Encouragement. It can change a person’s life; alter the destiny of families. Nations can rise and fall – alright, maybe not that dramatic, but who can deny the power of encouragement? How many of us have been overwhelmed, about ready to give up and someone stopped and in a loving moment, poured encouragement all over us? Is there anything more refreshing? God loves the whole world and He has chosen you and me to be His messenger of encouragement. Might He lead us to someone in need of encouragement today.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank You for all the times You have sent encouragement my way. I pray that today You might help me be an encourager to someone who so desperately needs it. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

You Are His Delight

TODAY’S VERSE
The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)

TODAY’S MESSAGE
Some thoughts are so powerful, they can change your life. Or at least they should. This passage is that way. If you can read, “He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing” and not feel special, not feel like God adores you, not be moved to gratitude and thankfulness for His attention toward you, then you need to read it again. If you can read, “The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save you” and not feel secure, special and in a safe place, then you need to stop, ask God to speak to your heart and read this verse over. Today’s verse can change your life if you let it.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Who am I, Dear God, that You would shower me with such attention? And yet, even with my doubt and feeble faith, today I choose to believe You. Quiet my heart with Your love, help me see with my imagination Your smile of acceptance and sense Your warm embrace of love and hear my name in Your singing. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

Stop and Praise Him

TODAY’S VERSE
Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagles!
Psalms 103:1-5

TODAY’S MESSAGE
Charles Spurgeon wrote; “I don’t which is more incredible, God’s faithfulness or man’s forgetfulness!” It is so easy to forget all that God has done for us. We get so preoccupied. Our lives get so crazy that we can go whole days, weeks, perhaps months without thanking God for His presence and provision. But today is a new day! Today we can say with David, “Let all that I am PRAISE THE LORD!” Today we can thank Him with our whole heart. Right now we can lift our eyes to heaven and shout, “Thank You, God, for all Your blessings!” He forgives our sins. He crowns us with love and tender mercies! He fills our lives with good things. Stop and spend a moment thanking Him for all He is and has done for you.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear God, I praise You today with my whole heart. Everything that is in me says, “Praise You, God!” I thank You for Your tender mercy. I thank You for Your love and provision. I thank You for forgiving all my sins. Forgive me for forgetting so easily. Truly, Father, You are worthy of all my praise. In Jesus’ name. AMEN

His Name Is Hope

TODAY’S VERSE
Look at my Servant, whom I have chosen. He is my Beloved, who pleases me. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. He will not fight or shout or raise his voice in public.
He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. Finally, he will cause justice to be victorious. And his name will be the hope of all the world.”
Matthew 12:18-21 (NLT)

TODAY’S MESSAGE
You can tell a religion by the God it follows. We follow Jehovah who manifested Himself a man in the person of Christ Jesus. He could have chosen to come as a ruler, a dictator, a mighty military leader or a tyrant. Instead, He came to earth as a humble savior. Isaiah says that Jesus came to proclaim justice. He came to be our hope. He did not come to crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering flame. What a picture Isaiah is painting. Here we are – many times messy, needy and weak. We get beat up, confused, tempted and tired. What does Jesus do? Does He step all over us? Does He crush the reeds? No, not even a faint brush to disturb them. Does He rant and rave? Does He blow out the littlest bit of a flame that we have left? No, He does nothing that would cause the flame to go out. His name is Hope! Hope is what our soul thirsts for. Today, hope in His unconditional love for you.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, what a picture of Your love for me! I need Your love. I need Your understanding, Your mercy, and Your total forgiveness. I fully receive them right now. I praise You for Your kindness. I shout with joy even now for Your unconditional love for me. Thank you, Jesus. My hope is in you! In Your Holy name, I pray.
AMEN

The One Thing

TODAY’S VERSE
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
Psalms 27:4 (NIV)

TODAY’S MESSAGE
Have you ever gone somewhere and hated to leave? Have you ever enjoyed something so much that you did not want it to stop? Is there anything in your life that has become that “one thing”? This is what David felt about his relationship with God. If we had to choose a word to describe David, it would be “worshipper.” David really loved God. He was sold out to Jehovah. So much so that if he had to choose just “one thing,” it would be to worship God all the time. What about you? What role does the worship of God play in your life? Is it just an hour of church on Sunday? That wasn’t enough for David. If he could, he would have stayed in the Temple of God worshipping all the time! The good news is that we don’t have to go to a Temple to worship God. We are the temple. Our body is His temple and our heart is an altar for worship. We can stop anytime, anywhere and gaze upon His beauty in the quietness of our own soul. Bring your praise and adoration to Him in your own temple throughout the day and night. Let loving God and living for Him become your “one thing.”

TODAY’S PRAYER
Lord, I admit I have been preoccupied with so many things that worshipping You have taken a back seat in my life. I am so sorry. I do love You. I really do want to get my priorities right. Help me know and love You more and more until worshipping You becomes the “one thing” in my life. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN
