God Is Thinking Of You!

TODAY’S VERSE
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!
Psalms 139:17-18 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
What a mood David was in! You can hear the enthusiasm in his words. He is full of appreciation and amazement. Could he get any more excited about God? He got it! He understood that the Almighty God of the universe was aware of him. More than aware, God was constantly thinking about him. More than just thinking, David said that God’s thoughts about him were precious! Have you come to that same awareness David had? Have you stopped to consider how much God thinks about you? Today, meditate on the fact that God is keenly aware of you. You are precious to Him. In fact, if you tried to add up all the thoughts God has about you, you would never be able to do it! And here is the amazing part, every day you wake up God is still with you; He is still having precious thoughts about you. Today, live joyfully in this awareness.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I thank You for all Your precious thoughts about me. I thank You for caring and being there for me. Thank You for Your love. In Jesus’ name.

Overcomer

Overcomer

TODAY’S VERSE
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
I John 4:4 (NIV)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
The early church was persecuted for their faith. Many were ostracized from society, living in poverty and starvation. Others were imprisoned. Many martyred for their faith. But ironically, this persecution caused the church to flourish. It forced them to band together and have a bond of love that the world has never seen again. It was an infectious witness to those around them. Instead, what was more of a spiritual challenge for the church was Satan’s battle for their mind. It was an all-out assault on the truth of the Gospel. During the time this passage was written there many people challenging the core of Christianity. There were some who said that the death of Jesus was not enough that we still had to obey the Jewish law. Others said that Christ was not the real Messiah, or Christ was not the real Son of God. Today it is the same story. Neil Anderson, in his book, “Bondage Breaker” reminds us that our battle with Satan is not a power struggle but a truth encounter. Satan comes to us as the father of lies. We are assaulted by one lie after another. Doubts and half-truths constantly attack our mind. But we need not despair. Why? Because John wrote that we are from God and have overcome all these falsehoods and lies of Satan. How is that so? Because Christ in you is greater than Satan and his spirits of deception that is in the world. Today, when lies, doubts, and half-truths come your way, resist them. Tell them to flee from your mind and focus on the greater thing, the truth of Christ and His love for you.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Thank You, Lord, for Your strength and power. Thank You for protecting me. But also, Lord, thank You for Your truth and the fact that You are greater than Satan and his lies. Lord fill me with Your truth.

Offering

TODAY’S VERSE

TODAY’S THOUGHT
There are many things you can do with your life. You have skills, knowledge, and experiences that afford you many different and unique occupational opportunities. However, there is one vocation that God has put in the heart of all who follow Him. It does not require skill, special knowledge, certain aptitudes or pedigree. It only requires a heart that loves God. He has called you to be a Priest. You have been given the sacred privilege to come before God in humble adoration. Dressed in a robe, cleansed by the blood of Jesus Himself, you stand before God forgiven and accepted as His child. There you are before God, your prayers received by Him as an incense offering, bringing Him extreme pleasure. As you praise Him, your hands reach up to Him in a Holy embrace, received as an offering of love and praise. There is nothing God desires more. No offering has ever been so precious to God as your adoration, praise, and prayers. Come today as God’s Priest and offer Him your love. Come into His presence, love Him, talk to Him, adore Him – it is your sacred privilege.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I come before You now with a humble heart. Hear my prayers. Receive them as a sacred offering. I lift up my hands to You in love and adoration. Please accept my praise as a Holy sacrifice to You in all Your majesty. I worship You today as my Lord and my God.

Blessings To you

TODAY’S VERSE

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Usually, after the worship service, a Pastor will give a benediction. It is a blessing pronounced upon the congregation. A blessing meant to help people have faith and hope in their Christian experience until they meet again. Of course, a benediction itself has no magical powers. It is not meant to be a magic chant. Rather, it is a pronouncement of God’s strength, provision, and ability to guide and protect us during our mission in this world. Paul wrote many wonderful benedictions. Being so far from the churches that he loved, he would write wonderful blessings in order to bring joy and hope in the Lord for all those he loved. In today’s passage, Paul is pronouncing a blessing of comfort and strength upon the church. Power and strength from God in every good thing that they will do and say. Does this sound like something you would want? Today, let God minister to your heart as you read and apply this benediction to your life. “Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say.”

Father, thank You for Your love, grace, comfort, and hope. I pray that today You would comfort and strengthen me in every good thing I do and say.

What Do You Want?

TODAY’S VERSE
What do you want me to do for you?
Mark 10:49-51 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
This was one of the first passages I ever preached on. I was a teenager giving a gospel message. I remember still to this day the impact this simple passage had on me. Here was this blind man sitting by the road and he hears that Jesus was coming by. Nothing could shut him up. He started shouting out to Jesus. The disciples tried to make him quiet down, but Jesus tells them to bring the man to Him. I love what happens next. Jesus looks at him and says to the blind man, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man simply answers, “I want to see.” What appealed to me then as a teenager still appeals to me decades later. It was the sincerity of Jesus and the invitation to tell Him what the blind man wanted. This is the same Jesus that we pray to. It is the same heart of Christ that bids us come to Him. It is the same power available that asks such an open-ended question. Today, see Him passing your way. Take the time to sit before Him and answer His question, “What do you want me to do for you?”

TODAY’S PRAYER
Jesus, I thank You for coming my way today. I thank You that You care so much for me that You would ask me what I need from You. I come silently before You and share my request. – Thank You, Lord, for hearing the desire of my heart.

Peace To You

TODAY’S VERSE

TODAY’S THOUGHT
It is God’s will that we live in peace. However, peace can be a relative term. Some would limit it to a “peaceful situation”. Yet many people live in a safe and friendly environment and still live in desperation. The kind of peace that the Bible emphasizes most is a state of mind. It is the inward peace that comes from knowing God is sovereign and that we can trust Him. It is the ability to delay gratification, solutions, answers or understanding and substitute it with hope, trust, and faith in God’s ultimate goodness and love for us. So today, choose peace. May peace fill your day and take you through the night.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I ask for You to flood my heart and my soul with Your peace. Today, may I sense You love and presence and rest myself in You.

Peace, Not control

Peace, Not Control

TODAY’S VERSE

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

Isaiah 26:3

TODAY’S THOUGHT

Perfect peace. Just the thought of it calms my heart. It is a peace that comes from maturity. It is growing into a feeling of peace from knowing God in deep and intimate ways. I use to think the answer was controlling everything. If I could just control my circumstances I would have peace. I must avoid those things from the past that haunt me. I must keep appearances and not let anyone know the real me. I must worry and try to control the future so I am not a victim again. What a trap. And this lack of peace, this need for control brings all its friends to my front doorstep. Anger, bitterness, jealousy, loneliness, despair, and anxiety they all congregate waiting to get into my mind. How wrong I have been. The more I try to control the more I need to control. Instead with the peace from God in my heart, I no longer have to control. This is perfect peace. Today trust in God. Bring Him all your control issues. He knows your situation. He knows your past and future. Fix your thoughts on Him and His wonderful all providing love for you. Let Him give you a lasting, mature and perfect peace.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Father, I come to You now. I want to experience your peace. I give up control and turn my situation, my life over to You. In Jesus’ name.

Dual Citizenship

TODAY’S VERSE
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
Ephesians 1:3 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
We live in two worlds. Yes, we are here on earth, but our life in Christ exists in the heavenly realm too. This is where our spiritual blessings come from. God decided this destiny for us a long time ago. Paul writes, “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ.” We are a product of God’s sovereign will and He has chosen to bless us with every spiritual blessing. Blessings like forgiveness, grace, peace, joy, the fruit of the Spirit. These are Spiritual gifts for us to enjoy here and now sent from the very throne of God. We are united with Christ and this union is the intertwining of both worlds so we can say boldly with Paul, “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms.” Today, might the realization of your Heavenly citizenship bring you joy.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Thank You, Father, for creating me and blessing me with every Spiritual blessing. I know that these are gifts from Your very throne and that You determined to bless me before the world was even made. Thank You for making me part of Your plan. Thank You for Your eternal love. In Jesus’ name.

Light Up My Darkness

TODAY’S VERSE

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Life can be unpredictable and messy. Every one of us has some drama in their life. We all have a story. We would rather have control over our situation, but so often we are simply left in the dark, wondering what to do. David experienced this. He had his difficulties, but instead of staying in the dark, he turned to God for help. He cried out to God and God became his light. He wrote, “You light a lamp for me. The LORD, my God, lights up my darkness.” Today, if things become unclear, if you are bombarded with problems, or if dark clouds start to clutter up your sky, turn to God. He will light your path.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, thank You for being a light in my life. Whenever I have been left in the dark Your light has been right there. Thank You for being a lamp for my path showing me where to go. Guide me today I pray.

His Great Power

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him.
Ephesians 1:19 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Here is a mystery. How in the world can I have something so great in my possession and totally ignore it? If I was a soldier on a mission I would be conscious that I had powerful weapons at my disposal. If I were a rich man going on a vacation, I would be fully aware of my financial ability. Yet day after day I live my life as if there were no presence of God or any of His power available for my life. How can this be? Is it that I am not conscious that I am in a spiritual battle, therefore, Christ’s power has no relevance to my life? Is it pride or arrogance that allows me to live as if everything depends on me instead of Christ? I thank God that Paul realized this spiritual cancer and set an example for us to follow. Paul wrote that I must ask God to help me understand the incredible power that He has available for my spiritual journey. It is with this understanding that I begin to ask God to do mighty things. How about you? Are you applying the power of God in your life? If not, start today. Ask God to help you begin to understand the incredible greatness of His power available for your life.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I pray that You would help me trust You and understand the power you have available for my life. In Jesus’ name.
