TODAY’S VERSE
“Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.”
Psalms 25:4-5 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
There are so many paths to choose from. Wouldn’t it be nice if we just had to make one turn and never had to ask for directions again? But that isn’t going to happen. Life has too many variables and we were given a free will in order to choose our behavior. The good news is we are not alone. We don’t have to make decisions all on our own. As a mighty warrior and later as King, David had to make many decisions. Although he had the right to decide whatever he wanted to, David knew that having God’s guidance was the only way to make good decisions. He prayed that God would show him the right path. He asked God to be specific and point out the way he should go. So God did, by teaching David truth. As David meditated on God’s word and character, he would end up putting more trust in God. This trust would result in hope and direction. Today, you have many different directions you could take. Stop and commit your journey to Him. Ask God to guide you and direct you in all you do and say. Put your trust in Him.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I commit this day to You. You know all the decisions ahead of me. Grant me wisdom and show me the paths I should take. I put my hope and trust in You. Guide me I pray.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I let God direct my path
See yourself coming to a crossroad. You are not sure which way to go. Fear begins to grip your hear. Confusion sets in and you do not know what to do. In desperation you cry out to God and He hears you. He guides you and you sense a relief. As you follow His direction you begin to feel peace. God is in control and you are happy to let Him lead. You affirm, “I let God direct my path!”

Really Knowing God

TODAY’S VERSE
“I know the greatness of the Lord.”
Psalms 135:5 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Have you ever tried to describe the Grand Canyon to someone who hasn’t been there? Pictures help, your descriptions can get them excited but nothing replaces the real experience. Until they stand on one of the rims and look across the great expanse for themselves, they will not know its majesty. It is the same way with today’s passage. David writes, “I know the greatness of the Lord.” This was observational knowledge—He had seen the Lord in action. It was relational knowledge—He spent quiet time with Him. It was experiential knowledge—He knew the greatness of the Lord because He stepped out in faith trusting God for all his needs. Today, don’t just settle for head knowledge about God. Stop and know the greatness of the Lord!

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, help me to know You. Help me know Your greatness. Might Your Holy Spirit lead me into a deeper knowledge of You.
AMEN

TODAY’S MEDITATION & VISUALIZATION
I know the greatness of the Lord
Picture yourself with David. You are with Him when Goliath falls. You see God saving you in battle. You are with Him when he is dancing for the Lord. You are in the cave when he spares Saul’s life and trusts God for the outcome. Feel yourself knowing God more and more. Feel His presence alive in your heart. Sense the deep joy as you walk with God with a vibrant living faith. Affirm, “I know the greatest of the Lord!”

God’s Thinking Of You

TODAY’S VERSE
“How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!”
Psalms 139:17-18 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
What a mood David was in! Could he get any more excited about God? He got it! He really understood how much God cared for him and it made him ecstatic. You can hear the enthusiasm in his words. He is full of appreciation and amazement. What was it that made him so excited? What overwhelmed him with praise? It was the fact that the almighty God of the universe was aware of him. More than aware, God was constantly thinking about him. More than just thinking, David said that God’s thoughts about him were precious! Have you come to that same awareness David had? Have you stopped to consider how much God thinks about you? Today, meditate on the fact that God is keenly aware of you. You are precious to Him. In fact, if you tried to add up all the thoughts God has about you, you would never be able to do it! And here is the amazing part: every day you wake up God is still with you; He is still having precious thoughts about you. Today, live joyfully in this awareness.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I thank You for all Your precious thoughts about me. I thank You for caring and being there for me. I thank You that You have never taken Your eye off me and never will. Thank You for Your love. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

TODAY’S MEDITATION & VISUALIZATION
God is always thinking of me
Sit quietly and contemplate the fact that God is thinking of you. Sense His consciousness, fully aware of who you are. Feel His love resonate in your heart. Try to comprehend that His thoughts of you are precious. Affirm that, “God is always thinking of me.”

Overcomer

TODAY’S VERSE
“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”
I John 4:4 (NIV)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
The early church was persecuted for their faith. Many were ostracized from society, living in poverty and starvation. Others were imprisoned. Many martyred for their faith. But ironically, this persecution caused the church to flourish. It forced them to band together and have a bond of love that the world has never seen again. It was an infectious witness to those around them. Instead what was more of a spiritual battle was Satan’s battle for the mind of the early believers. It was an all out assault on the truth of the Gospel. During the time this passage was written there many people challenging the THOUGHT of Christianity. There were some who said that the death of Jesus was not enough that we still had to obey the Jewish law. Others said that Christ was not the real Messiah, or Christ was not the real Son of God. Today it is the same story. Neil Anderson, in his book, “Bondage Breaker” reminds us that our battle with Satan is not a power struggle but a truth encounter. Satan comes to us as the father of lies. We are assaulted by one lie after another. Doubts and half truths constantly attack our mind. But we need not despair. Why? Because John wrote that we are from God and have overcome all these falsehoods and lies of Satan. How is that so? Because Christ in you is greater than Satan and his spirits of deception that is in the world.” Today, when lies, doubts, and half truths come your way, resist them. Tell them to flee from your mind and focus on the greater thing, the truth of Christ and His love for you.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Thank You Lord for Your strength and power. Thank You for protecting me. But also Lord, thank You for Your truth and the fact that You are greater in me than Satan and his lies in the world. Lord fill me with Your truth.
AMEN

TODAY’S MEDITATION & VISUALIZATION
God’s truth sets me free
Visualize yourself walking in a dark forest. You know you are on the right trail but it is hard to see. You feel intimidated and fearful of getting lost or hurt. You pray and God gives you His light. Has you hold it out the whole trail lights up in front of you. You realize that this light is really truth. His truth is the light for your path. You are free to travel and sense a peace and a joy as you walk in the light. You know deep in your heart that, “God’s truth sets me free!”

Living a Godly Life

TODAY’S VERSE
“I have been sent to proclaim faith to those God has chosen and to teach them to know the truth that shows them how to live godly lives.”
Titus 1:1

“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. – He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.”
II Peter 1:3-4

TODAY’S THOUGHT
In his book, “Good To Great”, Jim Collins shares some of the traits that great companies have. One was their pursuit of BHAGS. BHAGS are “big hairy audacious goals.” As Christians we are given a BHAG that separates us from those just existing in this world. The big hairy audacious goal God has for us is to, “be like Him.” Our goal should be to live a Godly life. This seems like a total impossibility until we read what Paul and Peter instructed the church. Paul shares that he was sent to teach the “truth that shows us how to live a Godly life”, and that is what he did. Paul fills his epistles with this amazing truth. Peter tells us that God, by His divine power, has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. Part of this “everything” is the precious promises that God gives us, enabling us to “share His divine nature.” Today, you can begin a quest to recognize and understand all the truth and promises that God has for you in His word. As you do, He promises that His divine power will enable you to live like Him, resulting in a more Godly life.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, thank you for Your promises that are in Your Holy Word. Help me to know and understand them. Help me to apply Your truth to my life that I may live a Godly life.
AMEN

TODAY’S MEDITATION & AFFIRMATION
I desire to live a Godly life
Visualize yourself with God. He has asked you to live for Him. You feel the weight of trying to live a Godly life by yourself. You feel anxious and God senses it. He looks at you and says, “Don’t worry, I promise that I will help you, I promise that I will give you everything you need to live for me. Your heart wraps around the fact that God has given you His word. His promises are true. You affirm, “I desire to live a Godly life.”

How Shall We Live?

TODAY’S VERSE
“And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.”
Titus 2:11-14

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Sometimes we lose focus. It is easy to get distracted and forget what life is really about. We get our priorities mixed up. However, in today’s passage Paul makes it quite simple. He instructs us to “turn from living out godless and sinful pleasures.” Paul calls them pleasures because he recognized that it can be difficult to turn away from them. However, he reminds us that they are godless and sinful pleasures, so the end never justifies the means. Instead, we are to live in this world with hope, wisdom, righteous living and a devotion to God. But how can we do this? How can we possibility resist godless and sinful pleasures and live with hope, wisdom, righteous living and devotion to God? There is only one way. Paul ends this passage with the answer. He writes, “Christ Himself gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.” What a glorious provision. What a mighty plan. Today let this be your reality. Let this thought permeate everything you do, “God loves you so much that He sent His son Jesus Christ to die on the cross and resurrect from the dead so you could be free from every kind of sin, totally cleansed and committed to doing good deeds.”

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, thank You for the hope, wisdom and righteousness that You give me. Thank You for freeing me from every kind of sin and totally cleansing me. Help me today to turn from godless and sinful pleasures and devote myself to You and the good deeds You created me for. In Jesus Name.
AMEN

TODAY’S MEDITATION & AFFIRMATION
I will live with wisdom, righteousness and devotion to God
Sense the battle going on in your mind. At times you can feel the pull of godless living and sinful pleasures. And yet you know there is a choice. You can choose wisdom, righteousness and devotion to God. See yourself crying out to God for help. See Him, in the power of the Holy Spirit, come upon you and give all the wisdom, righteousness and devotion to God that you  need to do the good deeds he created you for.

Don’t Be Troubled

TODAY’S VERSE
“Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you.”
I Corinthians 15:58

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.”
John 14:1

TODAY’S THOUGHT
In life we will have trials. We will have struggles. To grow is to stretch ourselves. With this come risks. So we step out in faith; and even then, we can have times of fear, doubt and anxiety. Many times we avoid conflict, hide from our struggles or simply try to escape pain through various ways. We can try and ignore our pressures but sooner or later avoidance won’t work anymore. We have to face the situation we find ourselves in. The good news is that God is faithful. He knows our struggles, He knows our limitations. Paul the Apostle encourages us, because of the love and power of God, to stand firm and let nothing move us. Jesus encourages us not to let our hearts be troubled by believing in God who is almighty and all loving. God is for us. He loves us. He is our strength. So today, stand firm, put all your trust in God. Exercise your faith and give all your struggles, trials and temptations to Him.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, You know all about my situation. You know my worries, fears and anxious thoughts. Help me stand firm. Help my heart not to be troubled. I do believe in You, dear God. I come now and trust You with all my life.
AMEN

TODAY’S MEDITATION & AFFIRMATION
I will trust in God
Feel yourself being weighed down by trials and tribulation. You burden is so heavy. You are at the end of your rope when you remember to call out to Jesus. You cry out to Him and decide to stand firm letting nothing move you from your resolve to trust God. You feel you burden become lighter. You sense that God is giving you strength to live for Him. You affirm, “I will trust in God!”

Remember

TODAY’S VERSE

“The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”

I Samuel 17:37 (NIV)

TODAY’S THOUGHT

If we would remember all the times that God delivered us from trouble we would enjoy a much more peaceful life. So many times I start my day as if it was the only day I have ever lived. Now I don’t mind forgetting some of the bad things in my life but when I begin to live as if God were not alive, then I need to do some memory exercises. God has created us with a powerful ability to remember so we be able to grow mentally, socially and spiritually. Throughout the Bible we are admonished to “remember” the goodness of God. Hope, peace, faith all come out of a memory of God’s faithfulness in the pass. David was going to fight Goliath and all he took with him was a sling, five smooth stones and a memory of God’s deliverance. Listen to what he said when he went to face the giant. “The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” What are you facing? What giant is between you and victory? Remember God’s faithfulness in the past and trust Him with today.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Father, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. Help me remember all the good things you have done and how you have acted on my behalf. When trial and struggles come, help me Lord to step out in faith knowing that You are the same today as You were yesterday.
AMEN

TODAY’S MEDITATION & VISUALIZATION
God delivers me from my fears
Danger has come upon you and you feel your heart racing. Sense the tension rise in your body. But then your remember God. The thought of His power begins to bring relief. The remembrance of His love for you brings peace. You share your fears with God. He listens to your pleading and begins to deliver you. Sense the awe deep in your soul as you realize that God Almighty has taken interest in you and He is delivering you from all your fears.

Renewed

TODAY’S VERSE
“Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.”
Colossians 3:10 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Paul starts this passage with writing, “But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds.” What a list. And how many times have we tried to do this? The only way we can successfully get rid of these negative characteristics is to change ourselves from the inside. We need to get rid of our old sinful nature. But that’s like trying to get rid of darkness. It doesn’t work. Instead you need to turn on the light! Paul knew this and writes that we are to put on our new nature and be renewed. But how? How does this happen? He writes, “As you learn to know your Creator and become like Him.” God has put in us the capacity to know Him. His Holy Spirit inside us guides us and as we attune ourself with Him, as we meditate on His word, as we spend time in His presence, the renewing of our mind takes place. We literally become renewed, a new mind that comes from knowing Him. Today, spend time with God. Get to know Him, experience His presence and His immense love for you. As you do, you will experience yourself becoming renewed.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I want to know You more. I want to experience Your presence more. I want to be renewed more and more so I can be like You.
AMEN

TODAY’S VISUALIZATION & MEDITATION
I am becoming renewed in my mind
Picture yourself spending time in the presence of God. As you meditate on His word, feel the Holy Spirit speak to your heart. Ideas change, conviction gives to direction, thoughts become more aligned with God’s heart. You sense that you are becoming more like Him. You affirm, “I am becoming renewed in my mind.”
